  • Most patients find these treatments minimally painful.

We use fine needles and gentle techniques to minimise discomfort. With dermal fillers and skin boosters, a topical numbing cream is often applied beforehand to enhance comfort. Dr Harriet will discuss pain management recommendations at your consultation.

  • One of the advantages of non-surgical aesthetic treatments is that downtime is usually minimal, but it does vary slightly depending on the treatment and the area treated.

For botulinum toxin injections, there is typically no real downtime. You may notice small bumps, slight redness, or minor swelling at the injection sites immediately after treatment, but these usually settle within a few hours. Most patients return to normal activities straight away.

With dermal fillers, downtime is still minimal, but there is a slightly higher chance of swelling or bruising, particularly in more delicate areas such as the lips. Swelling can last a few days, and any bruising—if it occurs—may take up to a week to fully resolve. We always advise allowing some flexibility in your schedule for important social events.

For skin boosters, you may experience small injection marks, mild swelling, or occasional bruising. These effects are temporary and generally settle within 24–72 hours, although in some cases minor marks can last a little longer.

  • After treatment, we provide detailed aftercare instructions.

This may include avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive heat exposure for a short period.
